MID CITY ART & MUSIC FESTIVAL
The Mid City Arts & Music Festival was founded by the MINC board in June 2017 as an annual community event. The festival is funded through the neighborhood council outreach committee, in partnership with CD10 - City Council President Herb Wesson, and other community partners, such as St. Elmo's Village & The Ebony Repertory Theater. The festival is FREE to the public, and aims to highlight our local artists, musicians, community organizations, and businesses. Festival goers come to enjoy a large variety of food trucks, live music, live art, and most of all, a beautifully diverse community that comes together to celebrate our rich cultural diversity.
Mid City Neighborhood Council
The Mid City Neighborhood Council is a government body of elected board-members through the community designed to serve the needs of the community. The goal of neighborhood council is to strengthen our democracy by empowering participants to advocate directly for real change in their community on such issues as crime, roads and streets, gangs, and the economy. As the community grows and competing issues arise, MINC will be a valuable and timely resource for issues of health, recreation, land use, traffic, safety, well-being and education.
The Mid City Arts & Music Festival is a free family event where all are welcome. Our mission is to build a stronger, better connected community, by providing a positive platform for artists, musicians, entrepreneurs, and youth, to express and celebrate the rich cultural diversity that is the spirit of Mid City.
